our projects

Below are some interesting pieces we have worked on recently

Gilt Mirror

This was a mirror that was bought into the workshops , which had been dropped on the floor, after the wire holding it snapped. Sadly the mirror and frame was completely shattered. There was many hours work in piecing it all together. The section shown was missing, having to be completely rebuilt.

Low Boy

This beautiful piece had, at some point had sometinng glued to the top, using contact adhesive. The adhesive had etched its way into the original finish, destroying all French Polish and the original patina. There was also a fair amount of the veneer missing, with some pretty poor attempts at repair work.

Some wood turning

A Walnut chest of drawers came into the workdshop, with missing bun feet. We assumed they had rotted away over time, having been replaced with just two pieces of timber, oak and not walunut. Luckily, two remained in tact, which allowed us to make copies. I think the results speak for themselves.
